Cara's roots have been firmly planted in Austin, Texas since 1977, when she said, "I love this city!" With so much history, diverse cultures, beautiful rolling landscapes, lakes, live music, and sunshine, it's no wonder people move here; they fall in love and never leave. From 1 year of age, Cara was influenced by her mother's real estate practice. "My mom loves telling the story of how she used to take my sister and me along in her car to show homes to her clients." These experiences, combined with Cara's background in technology sales and study of design at the University of Texas, compelled her to pursue a real estate career. Cara's ambition from the start was to "not be" a typical, ordinary, mediocre real estate agent. She collectively put her background and skills to work, along with a passion for learning to produce an exceptional customer experience.
In November of 2001, Cara earned her Texas real estate license, joined the Austin Board of Realtors®, and started her career learning under a top performer and highly respected professional in the industry, Maggie Falvey, her mother, and broker. Earlier that year, she fell in love with her future husband, Joe Keenan, who just so happened to be buying his first home from Maggie. They married in 2002 and went into business together.
During her pursuit to educate herself about real estate and business, she earned the Accredited Buyer Representative Designation in 2001 and the GRI designation in 2002. In 2006, she was awarded the prestigious Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist designation and was invited into the Million Dollar Guild with the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing. In 2007, Cara earned the coveted Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation, the highest designation awarded to sales associates in the residential sales field. In 2009, Cara recognized the demand for educated Realtors®, especially those with knowledge in helping homeowners in financial distress. As a result, she earned the Certified Default Resolution Specialist Designation, so she could help reduce the rate of foreclosures.
Between 2006-2008, Cara participated in and graduated from the business professionals course offered through the AJI network, a private educational institution responsible for helping powerful professionals earn the top 1% incomes. As a member of the AJI network, Cara uses her certifications as a foundation for building competitive advantage, establishing and expanding her autonomy, creating more identity, increasing her value, and accumulating the ability to fulfill her ambitions to live a good life and perform in the top 1% of the marketplace. Following BPC, Cara was invited to participate in the AJI network's LEIP program to study discourse in leadership, entrepreneurship, innovation, and power.
Cara's areas of expertise include residential buyer & seller representation, relocation, marketing and selling resale homes, new construction homes, waterfront property, luxury estates, gated or golf course community homes, high-rise loft spaces, or condos, and investment properties in Austin and surrounding areas.
Family and integrity have always been the leading mobilizers for Cara's success in real estate and life. People that know her can confirm that she has a passion for helping others and that she does it with integrity. In addition to the lifelong friendships Cara has built over the years in her real estate career, her husband and three boys are what keep her focused and grounded in reaching their ambitions.
Cara & Joe have three beautiful sons, Aiden (born August 2003), Maddox (born July 2005), and Rowan (born June 2007).
