Cedar Trunk Ranch sits tucked into a canyon just outside the city limits of Cedar Park. As you enter the property, you’re immediately greeted by dramatic topography, with towering rock rims forming the eastern and western boundaries. As the land falls away into the heart of the ranch, lush rolling hills tuck into hidden box canyons filled with rock outcroppings, small caves, and unique terrain around every turn. Perched on a knoll toward the back of the property sits an impressive barndominium featuring an indoor sports court, five suites, and incredible outdoor living spaces complete with a pool, sauna, and multiple areas to relax and entertain. While the ranch offers the feeling of a private Hill Country retreat far out in the country, it truly sits right in your own backyard. When the owners are not enjoying the property themselves, the ranch has also generated short-term rental income, creating an opportunity for both personal enjoyment and investment potential.

IMPROVEMENTS: Perched on a knoll toward the back of the property sits an impressive 6,000-square-foot recreation barn completed in 2023. Designed for both entertaining and recreation, the barndominium features five bedrooms, four bathrooms, and accommodations for up to 25 guests. The main hall includes an indoor pickleball court, half-court basketball, and event space capable of hosting gatherings of up to 150 people. Additional amenities include a Sonos surround sound system, treadmills, assault bikes, rowing machines, a turf pool deck ideal for yoga, HIIT classes, cornhole, or meditation, along with both wood-fired and electric saunas. Outdoor living areas centered around the pool create an atmosphere that feels more like a private retreat than a property minutes from town.

Cedar Trunk Ranch sprawls across 61 acres in Leander with a 2022-built barndominium designed around complete self-sufficiency and off-grid independence. The property sits on rolling terrain with dramatic canyon walls forming natural boundaries, delivering the feel of a remote Hill Country retreat while remaining minutes from Cedar Park's urban center. The main residence is a 5,408-square-foot structure with five bedrooms and multiple bathrooms, engineered as a fully operational homestead rather than a conventional house.

The ranch operates on solar power infrastructure supporting year-round energy independence. A private well system provides fresh water directly from the property, eliminating municipal utility dependence. The land itself functions as productive acreage, with space for gardens, livestock operations, and agricultural ventures. The topography includes hidden box canyons with rock outcroppings and natural features that create diverse microclimates across the property.

The central barndominium serves as both primary residence and entertainment hub. An indoor pickleball court and half-court basketball floor occupy the main hall, which can host up to 150 people for events. Fitness equipment includes treadmills, assault bikes, and rowing machines. A turf pool deck accommodates outdoor recreation, yoga, and meditation. Two saunas (wood-fired and electric) connect to the rest of the facility through a Sonos surround sound system. The pool sits at the heart of outdoor living spaces designed for year-round enjoyment.

Leander ISD serves the property, with Deer Creek Elementary, Leander Middle School, and Leander High School handling K-12 education. The location puts families 20-25 minutes from downtown Austin employment centers via Highway 183 North.

The 61-acre parcel generates additional income through short-term rental opportunities when the owners are off-property. Rental demand in the Leander area runs consistently high, particularly for large group accommodations and event venues. The combination of full off-grid capability, entertainment infrastructure, and proximity to Austin creates dual-use potential: true rural independence with metropolitan access. At $915 per square foot on the main structure, the per-acre value reflects the improvements and utility systems already in place. Properties offering this level of self-sufficiency and capability rarely remain available in the Austin metropolitan statistical area.
