How we sold it
Restored, then under contract before the MLS
A 1980 Alan Taniguchi design on nearly 1.7 oak-forested acres. The Keenan Group restored it over eight months, then sold it under contract after three days of premarket showings, before it ever reached the MLS.
A Taniguchi house that lives in the forest
Alan Taniguchi, former dean of the University of Texas School of Architecture, designed the house in 1980, and it won a Texas Society of Architects Award in 1982. His father, Isamu Taniguchi, built the Japanese garden at Zilker Botanical Garden, and the same koi-garden harmony runs through this house.

The restoration
From June 2025 to February 2026 we took the house through a whole-home restoration that honored the original design. Cara picked the cabinetmaker and chose the countertop stone at the quarry by hand, so the kitchen would look like it had been there from the beginning.

Three days of premarket showings
We never put it on the MLS. Three open houses on a Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, three hours each, were opened to neighbors, architects and design enthusiasts. By the end of those three days, the house was under contract.
