History
Stephen F. Austin High School is the oldest continuously operating public high school in Texas, founded in 1881. The current campus on W Cesar Chavez Street was dedicated in 1975 and sits on the shore of Lady Bird Lake, with downtown across the water. The school offers four academies: Classical Studies, Design & Technology, Global Studies, and Science & Innovation. Austin High has earned multiple GreatSchools College Success Awards.
