History

Stephen F. Austin High School is the oldest continuously operating public high school in Texas, founded in 1881. The current campus on W Cesar Chavez Street was dedicated in 1975 and sits along the shores of Lady Bird Lake, giving students one of the most scenic campuses in the state. The school offers four academies: Classical Studies, Design & Technology, Global Studies, and Science & Innovation. Austin High has earned multiple GreatSchools College Success Awards.
