History
Westlake High School opened in 1969 and quickly became one of Texas's most decorated public high schools. The campus sits on a wooded hilltop in West Austin, serving families from Westlake Hills, Rollingwood, and the Barton Creek corridor. The school has won 18 UIL state championships across academics and athletics, including football state titles in 2019, 2021, and 2023. Drew Brees, Super Bowl MVP and future Hall of Fame quarterback, graduated from Westlake in 1997. The school's Fine Arts Academy produces nationally competitive theatre, band, and orchestra programs. Westlake consistently ranks in the top 1% of Texas high schools and in the top 100 nationally.
