Round Rock ISD is the fourth-largest district in the Austin metro with 52,000 students and 55 campuses. The district sits at the center of Austin's tech corridor - Dell Technologies' global headquarters is in Round Rock, Samsung's chip fabrication plant is in Taylor, and Apple's campus is minutes away. This concentration of tech employment created a school district with unusually high academic expectations. Westwood High School, with 44% Asian enrollment reflecting the tech industry's workforce, earned Platinum recognition on the 2025 AP School Honor Roll. Canyon Vista Middle School ranks in the top 2% of all Texas middle schools. Five RRISD high schools made the 2025 AP Honor Roll - the most of any district in the region.
