Lake Travis High School opened in 1984 serving a then-rural community west of Austin. The school transformed into a powerhouse alongside the explosive growth of Lakeway and Bee Cave. The football program won five consecutive state championships from 2007-2011 under coach Chad Morris, and Baker Mayfield (2018 NFL #1 overall pick) played his freshman season here before transferring. The campus underwent a $147M bond-funded renovation in 2018, adding state-of-the-art facilities. LTHS consistently ranks among the top public high schools in Texas.
