The musical based on the 1993 film is in Austin with Texas Performing Arts. Daniel Hillard, an out-of-work actor who loses custody in a divorce, disguises himself as the Scottish nanny Euphegenia Doubtfire to stay close to his children. Braxton Keith in Concert

*Friday, September 25; 6:00 PM*

Texas country singer Braxton Keith headlines an outdoor, all-ages show at Round Rock Amp, presented by KASE 100.7 and 98.1 KVET as part of their Country Music Live Series. Local food and drink are on site, so you can make a full evening of it without planning dinner elsewhere. It is an easy Friday night for anyone in north Austin or Williamson County. Wags & Wellness

*Saturday, September 26; 8:30 AM–12:30 PM*

Girard Kinney Park hosts a morning for families and their dogs. The program includes dog activities, a pet costume contest, family yoga and a Kids Zone with face painting and bubble dance parties. Local wellness vendors, food and drink, a lakeside hammock garden and giveaways fill out the morning. The event supports Austin Pets Alive!, so bring the dog and plan to stay a while. RSVP here.

Brewtoberfest at The Brewtorium

The Brewtorium’s beer hall brings back its Oktoberfest party with house-brewed German-style beers and a menu of chicken schnitzel, sausage on a stick and braised red cabbage. Pivo & Polka plays live, and the afternoon includes walk-in axe throwing, stein hoisting and the Brewlympic Games. Lederhosen and dirndls are welcome but not required. Reserve a spot on Eventbrite.

The Roosevelt Room Master Class: Cocktail Co-Stars

The Roosevelt Room’s master class series turns to the supporting cast of the bar: liqueurs, amari, bitters, absinthe, vermouth and fortified wines. You taste a wide lineup and hear the history behind them, from old remedies to monastery recipes.
