Joseph Robertson, the second physician in Travis County (for whom the nearby Robertson Hill neighborhood was named) first owned the lot where the home was constructed. He subsequently sold it to Charles and Cordelia Boothe, who hired JJ Brydson, a prominent 19th century contractor, to build the home for their family in 1895. The seller has a chain of ownership and original hand written Abstract Title from the 1800s that will convey with the home. 1011 E. 8th is located in the Robertson/Stuart & Mair Historic District—a Local Historic District that includes the Historic French Legation.
