This is an archive of the original Weekender selections for the dates above. Schedules and property details describe that edition, not current events or availability.
Independent cinema and an arena concert shared this June roundup with an early run and an evening paddle. Sunday’s cake exchange brought local bakers into the mix at Wanderlust Wine Co.
The weekend’s events
Austin Asian American Film Festival
Original schedule: All weekend long | Times vary
The Austin Asian American Film Festival selection focused on independent films from Asian and Asian American filmmakers at AFS Cinema. The program offered several screenings rather than one feature at a single time.
Ariana Grande in Concert
Original schedule: Friday, June 26th & Saturday, June 27th | 8:00 PM
Ariana Grande’s Austin concert dates were included as part of The Eternal Sunshine Tour. The original issue connected the performances with her Eternal Sunshine material.
Treat Trot Austin
Original schedule: Saturday, June 27th | 7:00 AM
Treat Trot Austin offered several running formats, including an untimed mile and a children’s dash alongside a timed race. The choice of format was a useful distinction in the original listing.
Rowing Dock’s Full Moonlight Paddle
Original schedule: Saturday, June 27th & Sunday, June 28th | Times vary
Rowing Dock’s Full Moonlight Paddle was described as a self-guided evening on the water. Kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards gave participants different ways to approach the outing.
The Great Cake Exchange
Original schedule: Sunday, June 28th | 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
The Great Cake Exchange brought local bakers to Wanderlust Wine Co.’s East Austin wine hall. Plan & Play Events’ gathering paired cake and treat samples with wine in the original ticket description.
