The Keenan Group Story
Cara Keenan (CLHMS, Million Dollar Guild, UT Austin) was born in Austin in 1977. She grew up here. Her great aunt was a Realtor. Her mother has been a Realtor since 1978. For Cara, real estate is not a career she chose - it is the family she came from. She earned her license in 2000, and from the start, the work was intuitive. She understood neighborhoods, understood people, understood what it actually means to help someone find the right home in a city she has known her entire life.
Joe Keenan (Broker Associate, USAFA, St. Edward's MBA) arrived in Austin in 1999 after graduating from the United States Air Force Academy. He came for graduate school at St. Edward's University. He met Cara in 2000 and they were inseparable from that point forward. Joe joined Cara in real estate in 2002. What started as two people with complementary instincts - her lifelong Austin knowledge and his military discipline and business training - became a partnership that has now lasted more than two decades.
What 25 Years in Austin Actually Means

We have three sons: Aiden (22), Chance (20), and Jack (18). We raised them in Northwest Hills, in the 78731 ZIP code, on streets we have sold dozens of homes on. They went to Doss Elementary, Murchison Middle, and Anderson High. When we talk about Austin schools, commute patterns, and neighborhood routines, we are talking about our own daily life.
Our oldest son, Aiden Keenan, joined the Keenan Group in 2024 and earned his real estate license in 2025. Three generations of Cara's family have now worked in Austin real estate. That is not something you build by accident.
